Making state-of-the-art memory care available to everyone
The Problem we are solving
Many people worry about their memory. You may be wondering if the memory changes you are experiencing as you age are normal or perhaps you have had a stroke or car accident which has profoundly affected your ability to remember day-to-day information. You are not alone - more than 140 million people worldwide are dealing with diagnosed memory impairment and an additional 60 million people in North America alone are concerned about the memory changes they are experiencing as they age.
Unfortunately, most people have limited access to memory assessment and treatment when they need it. Wait times for a cognitive evaluation at publicly funded hospitals are up to one year, while the cost of assessments performed at private clinics are prohibitive for many. In both cases, the existing paper-pencil assessments used by professionals, while informative, fall short of capturing the extent of real-life memory concerns.
For those who are able to have their memory problems assessed, their treatment options are very limited and can only be accessed through an even smaller number of ‘brick and mortar’ memory clinics across North America whose focus remains predominantly managing patients with dementia. For the much larger population of people whose memory problems are due to other health issues and for people, such as middle-aged and older working professionals, who want to improve their cognitive performance and stay on top of their game, there are few trusted software options available; none of which provide customized applications informed by clinically-validated assessment tools.

The Bionic Memory platform captures the digital feeds we all create daily by interacting with applications and transforms them into a memory structure to support cutting-edge memory assessment and intervention tools. The platform is modeled on the cognitive neuroscience of human memory, and our memory model is complimented by machine learning and deep learning methods. The platform design is continually enhanced through our collaborative partnerships with leading memory scientists, allowing us to accelerate the lifecycle of clinically validated memory care innovations from the research lab to the people that need them.
We are always interested in growing our partnerships - with cognitive neuroscientists working in the areas of memory assessment, intervention, and theoretical memory research; with computer scientists with interests in machine learning, deep learning, and object recognition; as well as with patient advocacy associations, community programs, and hospitals delivering services to individuals with memory concerns.
Bionic Memory will make state-of-the-art memory care available to everyone through the technologies they use everyday, such as tablets, laptops and smartphones. Our approach will greatly expand and enrich the memory healthcare offerings currently available and ensure that you can get the memory care you need, when you need it, without the prohibitive cost.
